Internships

The Guilford County Public Defender’s Office provides a unique opportunity to 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls to practice in court representing our clients with an NC Bar Practice Certificate, contingent on approval from the student’s law school and the State Bar. We are also interested in second-year Masters of Social Work students who wish to work with indigent criminal defendants. Occasionally, our office will also accept passionate and dedicated law students not eligible for their practice certificate and undergraduates with a sincere interest in indigent defense.
